çhisar has definitely been reborn this year. “Taş Konaklar” or Stone Houses is one of several lovely new hotels in the village. The owner is Bülent Arkacalı, a well-known politician. During his long career, he occupied various public posts as party deputy leader, minister and member of the Council of Europe. Here we see him in the unexpected role of hotel owner, which he fulfills successfully with his Belgian wife. Several stone houses were joined to create the hotel, which overlooks a small garden. The view over the valley is spectacular. The rooms were restored for modern use, but traces of their old function were carefully maintained. The simplicity of the decor, furnished with well-chosen antiques, is particularly appealing. The emphasis here was placed on comfort and atmosphere rather than style.
