A
pleasant medium-budget hotel, part English owned, lies hidden in a traffic-free back lane of Bodrum. A swimming pool forms the centrepiece of an intimate courtyard smothered in flowering bougainvilleas. The buildings are styled in vivid colours and filled with the homey charm of patchwork quilts, stencilled vine branches and comfortable armchairs. It is pleasant and quiet, yet within walking distance of the main centres of the towns lively nightlife.

Like the Su Otel, a few steps away, the Ardmore apartment is hidden away down one of Bodrum’s tiny lanes, close to the harbour castle and and restaurants. It served us well as a party of four, two adults and two children, as it is well laid out and furnished. Apart from its own small garden there are two bedrooms, a largish lounge, very spacious shower room/lavatory, as well as a kitchen with cooker and a large fridge. For the high summer, it is also fitted with air conditioning.
On top of that we found that Ardmore residents have use of the Su Otel facilities, which include a quiet sunbathing area spaced among palms around the swimming pool, a covered bar area cum library and excellent restaurant. Internet connection comes free, as I found out. They call it a family hotel because, we suspect, the multinational guests who frequent it are made to feel like one of the family, by a small but very helpful and friendly staff.
Good value at the price and highly recommended
