A
t first sight, the architecture of the building is somewhat uninspiring. Once inside, this first impression is slowly dispelled. As you sit by the water, you realise this place has quite a lot going for it. For a start, the turquoise sea is so limpid and clean that coral reefs have developed. A sandy beach lines the bay, stretching for 2 kilometres. You reach the hotel, in the quiet resort of Kumlubük, through a road that winds its way through a pine forest. The hotel boasts a beautiful garden with palm and date trees, a well-kept lawn and colourful flowers. The rooms, many of them two-bedroom suites, are cheerful, furnished with attractive fabrics. To cap it all, the restaurant is excellent and serves what can only be described as gourmet food.
