T his modern villa has an almost suburban feel. It stands alone on a breezy hilltop, commanding a spectacular 360˚ view over Bozcaada: stunning cove on one side, the centre of the island on the other and the mainland in the distance. The owners built the villa as a home, but they changed their minds and decided to turn it into a guesthouse two years ago. The décor is more house than hotel and reflect the lady owner's style: lacy doilies, silver ornaments, candles and gilded picture frames. The rooms are large and elegant, with brocaded bedcovers. The bathrooms are state-of-the art and include Jacuzzi bathtubs. Mrs Nurtan's personal touches extend to breakfast, which includes home-made cookies and jams.
