A
hidden paradise on the far side of Cunda, green and untouched unlike the eastern shore. It’s all forested hills and a coast lined with olive groves. In the sea, dozens of tiny islets some of them topped by the ruins of ancient monasteries. Ortunç sits alone in its own little cove between woods and groves. The spot is stunning. Onur Tunç, who manages the hotel, is the son of the founder, an opera singer, who first decided to open a hotel here 30 years ago. The resort has undergone major restoration: old buildings were replaced by two-storey modern ones furnished with great luxury. The rooms, which have their own terraces, are both extremely comfortable and elegant. The garden was entirely redesigned with the addition of exotic plants. The sea here is of the intense blue kind that snorkelers like us enjoy.
