Peacocks - including some very unreal albino whites - strut the meticulously clipped turf. The evening air carries wafts of jasmine and the scent of a special bush that only releases its perfume on summer nights. There is a magnificent beach of coarse sand in front, and the ruins of a Roman city buried in forest within strolling distance. The 7000-feet peak of the Lycian Olympus rises in the background.
