emal Bey discovered Bozcaada a decade ago during a holiday. Several trips later, he decided to start a hotel. He began with a modest vineyard house, then bought and renovated a house at the centre of the island. Kemal Bey’s long experience as an architect was put to good use during the restoration of the magnificent building. The doors, wooden floor and the built-in wardrobes are all original. The hotel was named Nar, or pomogranate, to symbolize abundance and unity. There are five rooms in total, all of them bright and airy. Each has its own shower, but some share a common toilet. Breakfast is served at Nar Cafe downstairs, which is also open to outside customeres. Organic produce, fresh from the garden of the vineyard house, is served at breakfast.
