H
ere is the famed Turkish hospitality at its best - a delightfully cosy and colourful hotel that is as much a cultural treat as a comfortable place to spend the night.
Mr Tosun has fitted up his hotel "Museum" with a splendid collection of old Anatolian antiques and handicrafts, including some of the finest Turkish carpets we have seen displayed in a hotel. The overall effect is a bit Aladins-lampish, but good taste and goodwill are clearly evident in every little detail.
We especially liked the old-fashioned satin-covered quilts - a typically "Turkish" touch that you wont find in any of todays modern-minded hotels.
Half of the rooms are set in regular masonry, while the others make a labyrinth of beautifully refurbished caves cut into a side of Uchisars great rock. (The caves are posh: you wont be surprised to find a jacuzzi-bath deep in the bowels of the earth.)
The welcome is warm and friendly. Mr Tosun runs a travel agency as well as an excellent network of internet-based travel services, so this is a good base to start from when planning your activities in the region of Cappadocia.

The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking. We spent a lot of time out there esp at sunset. Breakfast views are great. Nice breakfast. Rooms are memorable. Dinner was great. Downside-our room was advertised as having a great view-it had zero view-I don't think any one them did. The pool was very small and very cold. The town has no other good restaurants-and isnt much to walk around. Goerme is 5 or 10 mins by taxi and has more to do and places to eat. This place is somewhat isolated and on a hill-but that's what makes the view great.
