vabuk is one of Datca's magnificent, calm bays. The only holiday places available are the little guest-houses used by the Turks themselves. This helps preserve the beauty of the village. Melinda is a small guest-house with a nice garden that matches the unpretentious village atmosphere. Everyone chips in with the work, even the daughters of the house. Mr Oral catches the fish, Mrs Sergul bakes lovely crusty bread in the stone oven out back, and the girls take the reservations. The rooms are small and simple but the sea is a mere three steps away. Home-grown vegetables are a bonus.

Geçen sene Haziran sonu Melinda'daydim. Bu sene Mayıs'a denk geldi. Her iki dönemde de aynı misafirperverlik, aynı güler yüz ile karşılaştım. Bu sene mutfağı ön tarafa, dut ağacının bitişiğine yaptıkları ahşap yapıya taşımışlar. Çok da hoş olmuş. Eski yerini oturma grubuna çevirmişler. Sezon dışı olmasına rağmen çok keyifli bir tatil idi. Datça zaten dünyanın en güzel yeri. Kaldığınız yerde de kendinizi evinizde hissedebiliyorsanız, başka ne ister ki insan?
