O nly 2 kilometres from the centre of Bozcaada, this hotel feels a world apart, “far from the madding crowd”, to quote Thomas Hardy.

Two one-storey stone houses, with a total of eight nicely furnished rooms, sit in a stunning ten-acre garden. The garden is one of the most beautiful we’ve seen: it contains olive, lemon, pomegranate, eucalyptus and pine trees, as well as black pepper plants. Hens cluck contentedly as you eat their eggs for breakfast. The jams, olives and buns on the table are all home made. Two families bought the buildings in a decrepit state and lovingly restored them. Curtains, bedspreads, everything is handmade and pleasing to the eye. The quiet location enables you to enjoy a symphony of birds while relaxing under the oleasters and admiring a green landscape entirely free of houses.
