Every spring, Canakkale faces an influx of Aussie backpackers on their way to pay homage to the fallen soldiers of Gallipolli. For those who want to visit the battlefields but need more comfort than youth hostels can offer, the Kervansaray, undoubtedly the best hostelry in town, is a good staging post.
