ozüyük is a charming little place, as yet untouched by the technology era and the waves of tourists that visit the region. The old square shaded by ancient plane trees, the mill built by the Seljukids, the old mosques and shops all appear frozen in time. The pace of life here is pleasantly slow. But Bozüyük did not always have this “sleeping beauty” atmosphere: it used to be a stop on the busy Aydin-Muğla road. The house of Hacı Şükrü is a reminder of wealthier days. It was taken over by the governorate of Muğla province and turned into a tourist establishment. The restoration has been quite well done. Half museum/half hotel, the house is furnished in a village style that combines the beauty of wood with plenty of frilly lace and embroidered linen.
