A
ll things Greek are now very much in fashion among the well-read and well-heeled sliver of Turkish society. So here we have a new hotel built in Greek townhouse style, painted with scenes from Greek mythology, furnished with a collection of antique books on Orthodox church history, and selling the museum copies of Trojan jewellery as souvenir. They are stylish, polite, and accustomed to serving a highly demanding urban clientele. They also serve good homemade wines.
Bozcaada, formerly Tenedos, was where Homers heroes parked their ships before they went on to hit Troy. The island keeps some of its Greek character, although the Greek inhabitants are now reduced to a tiny minority. The town is charming in a quiet way. An impressive mediaeval fortress looms by the sea not far from the hotel.

Temmuz 2005 başında 3 gün konakladığımız Kaikias Hotel'i çok sevdik.
