here could be no better choice for a few days of total immersion in Mediterranean rural life. The village itself looks and feels as if it has not changed since the Lycian times. The ruin of a 2500-year-old citadel-town stands on the hill, overgrown and never visited. Some oak trees must be nearly 1000 years old. On tiny plots carved into the rocky ground the villagers cultivate thyme.
It takes sensitivity to build a hotel that will not ruin the spirit of this place, and Hoyran House displays that quality in abundance. The architecture bows modestly to the accumulated wisdom of the ages: stone and adobe and wood are used to perfect effect. The interiors are generously outfitted but free from false glitz. The same generosity shows through in the hospitality of Süleyman and his wife, both returnees from city life. This is not a place to isit in passing. It takes a few days at least to feel the rhythm of the earth.
The sea spreads on the horizon 400 metres below. One can hike down to the coast in half an hour. Otherwise, it is a 20-minute drive to the tourist scene in either Kekova or Kaş.

Hoyran Wedre evleri sakin bir tatil arayan, ailece dinlenmek için gidilecek bir yer. Çocuklar gerek otantik yüzme havuzu, gerek muhteşem yemekler, gerekse çiftlik hayvanlarıyla çok güzel zaman geçirdiler. Hoyran’ın Kaş’a, Kekova’ya ve Demre’ye çok yakın olması (arabayla 20’şer dakika) o bölgeyi tanımak isteyenler için de güzel bir çıkış noktası olmasını sağlıyor. Denizden yüksekte olduğundan hava ne kadar sıcak olursa olsun nispeten nemsiz bir havada keyifli bir uyku garantisi veriyor. Konuklarla bu kadra yakından ilgilenen, isterlerse onlarla civardaki antik kentlere yanlarında rehber olarak giden bir evsahibi ben bugüne kadar görmedim. Süleyman beyi bu girişimi için tebrik ediyorum. Hoyran Wedre’yi herkese öneriyorum, ancak böyle giderse yer bulabilmek için çok önceden rezervasyon yaptırmamız gerekecek:)
