he first of the Harmoni hotels saw the light in Çeşme. This one opened three years ago in Alaçatı. Designed to fit in with the local style, it still stands out with its originality. The place is located on Kemalpaşa Street, which turns into a human tide during the summer season. You really are at the heart of things here. The building isn’t new. It is a typical Greek house with a stone facade, which has been pleasantly transformed into a five-room boutique hotel. Nilgün Hanım, who runs this place, is not someone who buys flat-pack furniture. She uses natural materials to produce quirky solutions. A branch suspended in mid-air replaces a wardrobe; instead of curtains, fabric festooned with seaweed. The fireplace, home-designed, brings the Flintstones to mind. Is it fun? Definitely!
