n an unspoilt corner of Turkey, this futuristic guest house comes as a surprise. Four white cubes sit in the middle of a pretty garden, their façade entirely made of glass (if you’re shy, you can draw the curtains). Each cube is an elegant minimalist room.
The style comes as a surprise, it is quirky, but it works. The owners are a sweet couple of musicians who moved to Sivrice after running a music school in Istanbul. Their own house is built of stone and wood, more in keeping with the local architecture. Later they decided to add four rooms and ended up with this wonderful space-age guest house.
There is a pool, shaded by a large oak tree. The restaurant, overlooking the hills and the sea, serves vegetables cooked in olive oil and grilled meat. The background music is classical of course, mostly Bach.
