L
ocated in one of the prettiest streets of Ayvalık, this magnificent Greek house would have plenty of stories to tell. It is 108 years old and takes its name from the town’s traditional Greek name, Aiolia. The port is only 5 minutes away. The place is run by a smiling lady, Erinç Eyioğlu, who extends warm hospitality to all her guests: she takes care of the grownups, her young daughter reaches out to the little ones. The building was restored without losing its original features. The interior decor harmoniously brings together old and new. White and pink dominate throughout the house, but each of the four room was given a colourful accent: pink, blue, purple or green. The smell of jasmine wafts over the little courtyard where a breakfast feast of local cheeses, olives, butter and mulberry jam is served in the mornings.
