eniz Kabuğu means sea shell. In this case, it is also a play on the name of owner Deniz (means sea in Turkish), who abandoned her business career to settle here. Her own shell sits along the “surf road”, a 20-minute walk away from Alaçatı village. Deniz and her husband are both surfers, which is what brought them to this resort renowned for its favourable winds. Before building their hotel, they thought carefully about what their guests would want. In the end, they decided to limit the number of rooms to six to give them plenty of space. The decor is white, uncluttered and bright. Each of the rooms commands a surface area of 25 square metres. The owners didn’t want the television culture to infect their place and they left out TV sets. It is perhaps the nicest thing they did!
