osta Farilia enjoys a prime location by the water, in one of the nicest bays of the Bodrum peninsula. Before it became Gündoğan, the village was called Farilya and inhabited by sponge hunters. The hotel is a good example of modern Turkish architecture, built in terraces with attractive grey stones. The place has a spacious and airy feel. The rooms could have been a bit larger, but they all enjoy a sea view. The nicest aspect is the garden: beige garden furniture on a spotless lawn. Watching the boats sail past induces a contemplative mood. A wooden platform, built over limpid water, is used for sunbathing during the day and as an outdoor restaurant at night. Many original dishes are on the menu, including a delicious helva soufflé.
