A
datepe Village, offers a tantalizing glimpse at the Aegean's rich multicultural past. Some 400 Turkish and Greek families once lived in this village, which now only counts 28 households.
Its untouched architecture has attracted many city intellectuals, who spend time here during the warm season.
The hotel is set in two village houses, 70 and 100 years-old respectively, which have been carefully renovated to preserve their original atmosphere.
The rooms are simple and functional, in keeping with the owners' desire to promote sustainable development.
Traditional food with a modern twist is an important element of their hospitality. Over breakfast, which scrumptious local cheeses, honey and yogurt, they discuss the dinner menu with guests. All dishes are cooked with flavourful local olive oil and fresh produce.
